The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), USA chapter has demanded that the only way the country could survive is to have it repaired by way of restructuring before the 2023 general elections.

“NADECO (USA) hereby forewarns that the only way for Nigeria to survive intact is to repair Nigeria first before the 2023 Presidential Elections.”

It reiterates that there “cannot and should not be 2023 elections unless Nigeria is repaired, fixed, restructured and its foundation reinforced or completely redone.”

“NADECO (USA) has taken this position after much thought and discussion for many preeminent reasons,” it stated.

Llyod Ukwu, Executive Director of NADECO, USA chapter in a statement made available to The Southern Examiner expressed dismay that “the 2023 elections are clearly being used as a decoy and calculated distraction by All Progressives Congress(APC) and the Buhari administration to derail talks of restructuring Nigeria adding that “the 2023 elections have been perfected as a big tantalizer to keep the “slaves quiet on the Plantation.”

According to the group, Aso Rock, the Cabal in Nigeria and APC dangle the 2023 elections as “if they are empowered to determine who becomes Nigeria’s next President and whoever emerges must be approved and cleared by them.

Part of the statement read: “In fact, this Unholy Trinity is merely trying to keep the sheep as sheep by exploiting regional identity and pitting ethnicities against one another to keep Power in their clutches.

” NADECO (USA) believes that the evidence is clear that APC will approach the South West making them believe that if they “behave themselves”, act as “good boys”, then the Presidency could be theirs.

“The South West will then be given a list of what is expected of them, based upon the premise that the Yoruba must be whipped into line and submission, before the self acclaimed “KingMakers” will even consider making a Yoruba person the next President, the first since Obasanjo.

“NADECO (USA) notes that the same tantalizer will thereafter be dangled to the South East with the same narrative and demanding the same “good behavior” from the Igbo cluster. This time, they will promise an Igbo in Aso Rock for the first time ever and an Igbo as Head of State for the first time since Azikiwe 55 years ago. Very attractive and tantalizing trick.

“NADECO (USA) finally recounts that the Cabal will then shamelessly dangle the same tantalizer in front of the South South people, who are reminded, dubiously, that Goodluck Jonathan of the South South was never allowed to do a full second term.

‘All must conveniently disregard that the “strategy” comes from the same group that slandered, ridiculed, and essentially chased Goodluck out of the Villa with a stick.

‘Therefore, the “promise” that the South South should leap to produce Goodluck Jonathan or anyone from the region to continue the unfinished 8 years is absolutely patronizing and cruel.

” All of these scenarios are politically manufactured falsehoods crafted and designed to set a political fire in the South and to keep the crabs from helping one another out of the pot.

“Yorubas will fight Igbos, Igbos will fight back. Igbos and Yorubas will fight the Niger Delta zone who will likewise respond in kind or with greater ferocity borne of bottled up anger and frustration at the daily rape of their land, the Niger Delta youth and their oil reserves by the North.

“The SW, SE and SS will fight each other for being each other’s spoiler ~ indeed assuring that all are engaged in “pouring sand in their garri”, in local parlance, as the Cabal sits back and laughs with amusement.

NADECO (USA) reiterates that the only way to repair Nigeria is to restructure Nigeria. What sense does it make to plan for what is being positioned to be at best a symbolic event when the reality of the continued life and death of Nigeria is an ignored question pressing itself more and more each day that passes.

“It only makes sense that you heal a dying Nigeria before any elections. Ironically, it is like a man is dying in the hospital with a potentially terminal disease. Of what use would it be for the family members to be arranging for the celebration of his forthcoming birthday? You are printing invitation cards, you are paying for a well-appointed venue, you are arranging for musicians to play at the event but the man is dying. Shouldn’t the family be worried about making sure he survives first?

“What if he dies or becomes so comatose that he doesn’t even know there is any birthday celebration for him?

NADECO (USA) presents what is obvious – Nigeria is dying and doing so speedily. Nigeria’s prognosis is terrible. Why would APC suck Nigerians into unnecessary and already rigged 2023 elections that are more tawdry political theatre than the Will of the People?

As soon as elections are conducted, Nigerians would again have unwittingly legitimized the military-decree-turned-1999 Constitution that is now a cruel and illegitimate disavowal of the fundamental rights and liberty of the Nigerian people.

“NADECO (USA) therefore unreservedly and unequivocally calls for no elections unless and until the country is restructured or the 1999 Constitution replaced, not amended.

“NADECO (USA urges that the next Nigerian Election must be as the first of the Fifth Republic – the dawn of the fulfillment of the dream of freedom, prosperity and security in Nigeria that has been delayed and denied the People of Nigeria for over 60 years.

NADECO (USA) further notes that this is not the first time that Nigeria has come close to almost being restructured. Unfortunately, history teaches us that the Nigerian government under Northern leaders, for some reason they have never been required to divulge, has always kicked against repairing Nigeria in the spirit of rule of law, equity, freedom, fairness, and justice. What is it that exactly scares the Federal Government of Nigeria from making sure that the country becomes a livable place for all Nigerians regardless of creed, religion, or ethnicity? What exactly is the ulterior reason for the continuation of neo-colonial and genocidal oppression by the North against against the remainder of Nigeria?

“NADECO (USA) recalls that in 1967, just before the Nigerian Civil war, a meeting between Gowon and Ojukwu was held in Aburi, Ghana. Recall that the agreement reached in Aburi amounted to restructuring into workable and sustainable regions.

“Nigerian government reneged on the agreement which eventually plunged Nigeria into a horrible civil and genocidal war from which recovery awaits. Nigerians are wondering why this time the Federal Government of Nigeria and APC are again displaying symptoms of being deathly allergic to any process aimed at strengthening Nigeria.

“NADECO (USA) reminds all Nigerians of the truism spoken by philosopher Santayana and paraphrased by Winston Churchill “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Nigeria has seen this strategic effort to pit regions against one another to avoid focusing on the real problems of Nation Building.

‘NADECO (USA) urges that healthy skepticism is mandated, as are clear-eyed guardians like NADECO, as the last line of defense against Nigeria being once again plunged into the abyss in the absence of structural changes.’
